Canopotamus

Though normally a sedentary creature content to wallow in the river, the canopotamus can become fierce in defense of its food supply. This magnificent beast’s greatest desire is to float in the cooling waters by day and sleep soundly in the grass at night. It feeds mostly on the tiny kibble fish, which is native to the rivers inhabited by canopotami.

Victorian zoologists believed the canopotamus to be a myth. This changed when explorer Colonel Wensley-Galumph, his pockets full of biscuits for a day’s safari, found himself being pestered by one.
