Vector Vacation

Here’s Storm, on vacation, in the Adobe Illustrator format. A while back I wrote a tutorial on doing Live Trace in Illustrator, one that has proven quite popular. That one was aimed at black-and-white line art, but it works with color as well. I went with more than a straight trace, here, though, masking out pieces and resizing the background and adjusting the colors after the trace.

Anyway, that’s more than most of you wanted to know about this particular Dog a Day. But if you own Illustrator, I recommend playing with Live Trace. If you expect automatic results, you won’t love it, but if you’re willing to tweak and experiment, and possibly even make some artistic decisions, you’ll love it.
