Dog Toys

Earlier I had a picture of Storm with her favorite toy, somewhat eviscerated but loved nonetheless. Today I decided to do a pencil sketch of that toy along with her tennis ball and her stuffed bone. The centerpiece is Dogbert, a stuffed version of the Dilbert character. He’s been de-glassesed (not a real word) to make him safe for canine affection, and he’s almost unrecognizable as a dog of any sort unless you’re told.

Pencil turned out to be an ideal medium, because all of these things are rather grubby. She has a few newer, shinier toys, but they are not beloved in the same way.

I guess to a dog, dirt, grime and stink equal some sort of love. Maybe I should stop bathing.
