A search and rescue dog for Labor Day. How could I let this day pass without acknowledging all of the working dogs out there? If you question whether dogs are better than cats, look around to see how many cats are helping in police work, as assistance and therapy animals, herding, and finding the lost and stranded.

Also, for Labor Day, I celebrate the two-thirds milestone for this project. I will be concluding the daily dog on December 31. But fear not, faithful reader, for next year I plan to create dogs regularly for this site. Just not every day. I’m guessing at least once a week, though, and knowing me probably more.
