Gouache Geometry Dog

One of the photos I took of the lost dogs we found was incredibly overexposed. I was shooting with different exposure settings because black dogs are notoriously difficult to photograph. When I looked at it, I barely recognized the background. The ground had turned into a blue square, the gate had turned into a beige rectangle. And the shot was angled, adding even more oddness to the image.

I’ve added more geometrical shapes to this painting done in (digital) gouache, but it does capture the oddness I saw in that photograph.

Only two more dogs to go. I’m stunned that I’m this close to finishing my goal of creating a dog a day for a full year, and a leap year at that. Stay tuned to watch me stumble across the finish line.
