Shapes

This is another creativity exercise. To help with character design, you can try basing a face on different shapes. In this case, I’ve used a circle, a square, a triangle and a rectangle. Shapes can do a lot towards forming personality, softening or hardening a face and even giving an idea of intelligence (a bullet-headed character from a triangle probably isn’t the sharpest tack in the box).
All of these dogs look less than friendly, but the different shapes give each a different basic feel.
