24 Hour Comics: Were-Retriever

October 20th, 2008

So Saturday was 24-Hour Comics Day, in which cartoonists are challenged to create a 24-page comic in 24 hours. That’s story creation to finished art in that time. I, being tired from the move, came into the event tired. I decided to stay as long as I could stand it. Which was 12 hours.

My story turned into the tale of Tommy, a boy who’s been surrounded by all sorts of creepy events (alien abductions, nasty orphanages) and creatures (bigfoot, nessie, chupacabras). One major creature is the were-retriever (well, I wanted to work a dog into this so that I’d be doing my dog a day entry… forgive me for killing two birds with one stone).

Here is page 10, in which Tommy begins the tale of his were-retriever friend, Klaus. My humor gets weird as I get tired, so that may explain the sausages and the lederhosen. I did like this page, and I’ve colored it today, after the event was over.
