Over Christmas I listened again to the old radio show Suspense episode Dog Star (you can listen through this link, if you want amazing radio that will make you cry).

The show was inspired by the then current news of the Soviets launching a small sweet dog named Laika into space. It was a one way trip. There were no plans whatsoever to bring Laika home. The true story also makes me terribly sad.
