The Archie Code
2020 Project: Day 56
February 25th, 2020
Archie really dislikes the Dan Brown Da Vinci Code. Turns out, he knew Leonardo. That book, he said to me, is just total crap, and not just for the way it gets London wrong and that it isn’t actually very good writing.
He slyly winked at me and said “try to find some of the earlier versions of Mona Lisa.” Art historians have found multiple versions by Leonardo, but this one just took me by surprise. It was all I could do to get a photo of it, locked in a case in the Vatican wine cellar, and get out with my life. Hope you enjoy this glimpse into art history.
