Archie ended up not being included in the Winnie the Pooh books, but it seems that some initial sketches were done. Having visited the Ashdown Forest, the real 100 Acre Wood, I can confirm that it really does look like the drawings.

Oh, and deep apologies to Ernest Shepard. I hope he would take the compliment. He’s a real favorite.
