“MODOG” was just too obvious, I had to go with “MODOC: Mutt Organism Designed Only for Cuteness.” I was a photo of a dog who seemed to be mostly all head and thought “I should do a MODOK” dog and so I did.

With my “Silver Surfer Walks His Bassett Hound” a few weeks back, I opined that only Jack Kirby could create essentially guy who rides through space on a surf board and not seem incredibly stupid. Kirby had a genius, but I’m not sure that even he succeeded at MODOK (Mechanical Organism Designed Only for Killing amongst other variants). He’s still around, MODOK is, but remains a bit of a punchline with his giant head/tiny body/flying chair setup.
